About

I am a lifelong Seattle-area native with a passion for data science and data analysis. I enjoy reading and exploring how data impacts and can improve the various sectors of our society.

I currently work as an operations manager for a transportation company near Seattle, where I love to find ways to use data to help make better business decisions.

I’m working towards a Masters degree in Data Science from Johns Hopkins University. It’s been great to get beyond merely using the tools of data science and to dive deep into the math, theory, and algorithms that inform what we do. I plan to graduate in the spring of 2020.

I have experience in R, Python, and Java; know my way around a few flavors of SQL; have produced data visualizations using Tableau, Google Analytics, ggplot, matplotlib, and other related software packages; excel in every aspect of the data science pipeline from ETL and EDA to modeling and machine learning; and love doing everything I can to add to my skillset.

When I’m not at work, studying, or spending time with my family, I enjoy playing soccer (badly) and bass (decently! But not as well as I used to), along with just about any game I come across: chess, poker, backgammon, gin rummy, pinochle, and cribbage being some of my favorites.
